It's back to work today - and if it weren't for the bludgeoning headache you're sporting or the flecks of glitter in your pants, no one would even guess that we'd just collectively rung in the new year.Give a look-see to some of 2013's first headlines:
- Following Monday's housecleaning over at Browns HQ, we're all ready to dive into a hearty dose of coaching courtship. Cleveland.com is leading today with Joe Banner's trip to Arizona to meet with Oregon coach Chip Kelly. Mum's the word regarding any and all prospects until an actual hire is announced, according to owner Jimmy Haslam. FWIW.
- Compare the hundreds of comments on the above story to the grand total of zero comments on the news of the first homicide in Cleveland for this year. It makes for a ringer of a headline at the moment, but we're hoping to learn more of the details behind Nathan Brown's death.
- The Ohio State Highway Patrol really bummed out at least one prospective New Year's party when they busted a Geneva man for hauling 15 pounds of herb across Lake County. That adds up to about $35,000. He may face up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.- Lastly, Green Day announced that they will return to the road after dropping out of a late-2012 tour. The Cleveland date, originally slated for Jan. 30, is no longer included in the band's schedule. So, at least we're starting 2013 on a high note.
